Alan Cumming has opened up about his “real” friendship with Lisa Kudrow.
talking to us weekly At the Time100 Gala on Thursday, the 61-year-old actor shared his reaction to Lisa’s tribute on Time’s 100 Most Influential People of 2026 list.
Allen told the outlet, “I didn’t know it was going to be her. … They don’t tell you. And so it was a very sweet surprise.”
He added, “And you know, everything she said about me, I feel strongly about.” “It’s a lovely thing to know someone for a long time and have a true friendship.”
Lisa wrote this in her tribute traitor The host is “as wonderful in person as he looks on your television screen.”
“I mean, are you kidding? He steps into the room, and you can’t help but think, ‘Yes. Brilliant,'” she continued. “Everything about him is thrilling. And yet, there’s something about him that makes you feel like you can take a deep, calming breath whenever he’s near you.”
“He’s so complete with himself – so free, so authentic – that just being around him feels like a celebration. It’s really no wonder everyone is so attracted to him,” Friend Elam wrote about Allen.
Lisa said that watching Alan host the reality competition series is “so much fun, not only because he always looks great, but because he plays a great villain.”
She concluded, “The Ellen I know off-screen is sweet, bubbly and friendly.” “He chooses happiness, he chooses glee, and he sees the wonderful in everything. He’s a phenomenal person and luckily for us, also a brilliant artist. Alan can do anything and everything, and that’s really what it’s all about.”
For those unaware, Alan and Lisa starred together in the 1997 comedy film Romy and Michelle’s high school reunion.
