Mali’s military says unidentified armed “terrorist” groups have attacked the capital and several military targets in the country’s interior.
In a statement on Saturday, the army said fighting was continuing.
There are also reports of firing near the main airport in the country’s capital Bamako.
Two explosions and sustained gunfire were heard near Mali’s main military camp and several other locations in the military-ruled country, according to witnesses and journalists.
