In yet another shocking attempt on President Donald Trump’s life, a 31-year-old suspect has been arrested, authorities said, with the Californian man scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.
Washington Police Chief Allen said Cole Allen of Torrance – the suspect – was taken to a local hospital for evaluation after being taken into custody, although officials said he was not shot.
According to law enforcement officials, Allen had a shotgun, a handgun, and several knives.
In video released on social media, the suspect was seen running toward the ballroom; However, he was captured before he could enter.
He faces multiple federal charges, including battery with a firearm and assault on a federal officer, said U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro, who added the possibility of filing additional charges in her first formal appearance in court.
The shocking incident occurred during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, which is an annual event.
