The White House correspondents’ dinner recently turned into a shootout, taking out the president and his first lady.
With only days remaining until King Charles’s state visit, Buckingham Palace finally released a statement that read, “Her Majesty has been kept fully informed of the developments and is very relieved to hear that the President, the First Lady and all guests were unharmed.”
“As you would expect, there will be a number of discussions throughout the day with US allies and our respective teams to discuss to what extent the events of Saturday evening may or may not impact operational planning for the trip.
As for the identity of the attacker, he was a guest at the Washington Hilton and a resident of Torrance, California. His name is Cole Allen, age 31.
The suspect in question also faces possible federal charges, as revealed Saturday by Jeanine Pirro, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.
