Nedra Talley Ross, the last surviving member of the iconic beehive girl group The Ronettes, has died at the age of 80.
His daughter, Nedra K. announced the sad news of his mother’s demise on Facebook, but he did not reveal the exact cause of her death.
“This morning at approximately 8:30 a.m. our mother Nedra Talley Ross went home to be with the Lord,” he shared.
The beloved singer’s daughter said, “She was safe in her bed at home with her family, knowing she was loved. Thank God.”
Notably, The Ronettes informed their fans about the news of her death on social media, writing, “It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Nedra Talley Ross. She was a light to those who knew and loved her.”
“Nedra’s voice, style and spirit helped define a sound that would change music. Her contribution to the group’s story and her defining influence will live forever. Rest in peace dear Nedra. Thank you for the magic,” the band concluded.
It is pertinent to mention that Nedra Talley Ross and her cousins, Estelle Bennett and Ronnie Spector founded The Ronettes in 1959 in New York City.
