Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) may have won a thrilling Super Over against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on April 26, but their young batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi has faced severe punishment for his behavior during this IPL 2026 encounter.
The Indian Premier League announced action against Raghuvanshi on Monday, 27 April. The incident occurred in the 5th over of the LSG vs KKR IPL 2026 match in Lucknow.
How Angkrish Raghuvanshi violated IPL rules during LSG vs KKR match
Angkrish Raghuvanshi was given out in a rare manner for obstructing the field. The young KKR batsman looked angry after the match official’s decision. In frustration, he hit the boundary cushion hard with his bat. He also aggressively threw his helmet towards the dugout.

With this aggressive behaviour, Raghuvanshi has breached Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which deals with “misuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during a match”.

As a result, Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been fined 20% of his match fee and also given one demerit point for damaging equipment and showing excessive aggression on the field.
The IPL confirmed in a media release: “Kolkata Knight Riders batsman and wicketkeeper Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been fined 20% of his match fee and also accrued one demerit point for breaching Level 1 of the IPL Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials during Match No. 38 against Lucknow Super Giants. Raghuvanshi pleaded guilty to the offense and accepted the match referee’s sanction.”
