Water sustains life, but what happens when it is weaponized? In the ongoing US-Israel war over Iran, desalination plants that supply millions of people in the Gulf have become targets. This reflects a growing pattern: as global scarcity increases, water infrastructure is becoming increasingly vulnerable. The United Nations has warned of impending “water bankruptcy” due to climate change and rising global demands, including AI data centres.
