(Worthy News) – Serious cracks are appearing in the fragile US-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Monday launched a new wave of airstrikes against Hezbollah infrastructure in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley and southern Lebanon – responding to repeated ceasefire violations by the Iran-backed terrorist organization.
The strikes follow a deadly Hezbollah drone strike on Sunday that killed IDF soldier Idan Fuchs and wounded six others.
In a rare and encouraging moment, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun stood firm, directly condemning Hezbollah — telling a delegation of southern Lebanese villages that negotiating with Israel “is not betrayal.” He declared: “Treason is committed by those who lead their country into war to serve foreign interests.” Aoun’s bold stance is a reminder that Iran has leaders willing to choose its people over the radical agenda of its terrorist representatives.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah leader Naim Qassim called peace talks a “grave sin” and vowed steadfastly that his group would never disarm. A Hezbollah source told Al-Jazeera that the group is deploying suicide bombers against IDF troops – reviving tactics from the darkest days of the 1980s and 90s.
In northern Israel, ordinary families are paying the price. Community leaders – disregarding national government guidelines – suspended schools on the border for at least 24 hours, declaring their areas “orange” zones as drones circled overhead and children fled for shelters.
“We will not wait for a disaster before making life-saving decisions,” said Moshe Davidovich, head of the Forum of Front-Line Communities.
Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Saar met with the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon and urged accountability and economic pressure against Hezbollah – noting that the terrorist group has shamelessly used UN peacekeeping positions as shields for its hostile military operations.
The IDF also seized a significant cache of Hezbollah weapons, including FPV drones, RPGs, anti-tank explosives and remote detonation systems – a stark reminder of the sophisticated and lethal arsenal it has prepared against Israel.
