Royal Challengers Bangalore have started this season of the IPL as the defending champions of the competition and have maintained their excellent form from the last season of the competition. The Challengers won their first IPL title under the leadership of captain Rajat Patidar, no one had imagined that the inexperienced captain would hand the trophy to the Red Devils for the first time.
Picking up from where he left off in Bengaluru, he has continued his excellent form and has dominated most of his opponents. RCB have now managed to win six of their first eight matches in the tournament and are currently second on the points table with 12 points, just one less than table toppers Punjab Kings, who have played one game less than them and still top the table with an undefeated streak.
RCB captain Rajat Patidar’s brilliant leadership continues in the IPL as his team registers yet another win in their title defence. Patidar has given the credit of this victory to his team’s bowlers, who performed brilliantly in the powerplay itself.
DC batsmen struggled to make headway against the early attack of Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Delhi Capitals have had to struggle with the bat in the face of tough challenge from the RCB batsmen. Royal Challengers Bangalore started with the experienced combination of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar took three wickets while rotating the new ball across dimensions, and on the other hand, Josh Hazlewood hit the hard lengths more often, giving the same number of successes as well.
After making a comeback, Josh Hazlewood took the final wicket by dismissing Abhishek Porel, who was the last wicket to fall when Hazlewood crashed one onto the middle stump, ending his innings at 75 runs.
Rajat Patidar increases win percentage as IPL captain
Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Rajat Patidar had excelled in the captain’s role last season. He was a young captain and after the great performance of the franchise he got confidence from all his fans.
After only two losses this season, Patidar has extended his winning streak and has won 16 of his 21 matches in the history of IPL. His win percentage in IPL is 76% as he looks to be rewriting IPL history on his own.

When RCB captain Rajat Patidar was asked if this was sweet revenge taken by RCB on their opponents, he said, “Absolutely. I am also surprised by the way the wicket played.”
“All credit goes to the bowlers Bhuvi and Hazlewood. They bowled in the right areas. The swing was normal but the good thing was that we got early wickets and that kept us in the driving seat,” he said.
He further added, “The way Suyyash bowled stump to stump was really good to watch. It is very important to follow your routine, we are focusing on one game at a time. Different players are coming and performing well. In T20 cricket, on flat pitches you need to bowl, because bowlers are the only ones who can win you the tournament.”
