Projectors have come a long way, but black levels have always been a problem. Brightness is easy to market, but getting a projector that produces truly deep blacks without washing out the highlights becomes difficult for most people. This is the specific problem that XGIMI is taking aim at with its most ambitious projector lineup yet, the XGIMI Titan Noir series, which is now officially live on Kickstarter.
First shown at CES 2026, the Titan Noir series consists of three models: the Titan Noir, the Titan Noir Pro, and the flagship Titan Noir Max. The key feature among all three is XGIMI’s Dual Intelligent Iris System, which the company claims is a first for any consumer projector. Instead of relying on software tricks to fake deep blacks, the Dual Iris physically adjusts the light output in real time based on what’s on the screen. Dark scenes become even darker. The bright visuals remain impressive. As a result XGIMI delivers native contrast rates of up to 10,000:1.
The XGIMI Titan Noir Max leads the lineup with 7,000 ISO lumens, an RGB triple-laser engine, 110% BT.2020 color coverage, and support for Dolby Vision, IMAX Enhanced, and HDR10+. It also handles gaming with a 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms input lag. Inside, it runs a MediaTek MT9681 chipset along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Shipping is scheduled for June.
Kickstarter Pricing and What You Can Get
Kickstarter backers get a significant reduction on standard retail prices. The Titan Noir Max comes in at $2,999 versus an MSRP of $5,999. The Titan Noir Pro is $2,699 (MSRP $4,999), and the base Titan Noir starts at $2,499 (MSRP $3,999). It is worth noting This is a Kickstarter campaignSo the usual warnings apply. That said, XGIMI is an established brand with a track record of shipping as promised, making it a less risky bet than most crowdfunding projects.
