Al-Qaeda-linked JNIM has announced the beginning of a “total siege” on Mali’s capital, Bamako, and warned civilians they will be targeted if they do not “stay out of the way”. Al Jazeera’s Nicholas Haq says that there is now a possibility of conflict between armed groups and the army.
