Barry Keoghan has finally addressed the rumor that he cheated on his ex-girlfriend Sabrina Carpenter.
Appearing on the latest episode of the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, Keoghan said, “I feel like I’m in a safe place to say this, but I’ve been avoiding things. I’ve stepped away from Instagram and social profiles. I’ve stopped going to events. I’ve just stopped socializing.”
The actor continued, “That’s because there was a story that was never really talked about – a story that is not true – and I never confirmed it or said anything about it. And I disappeared.”
When co-host Lil Dicky asked about Carpenter’s cheating rumors, Keoghan confirmed that’s what he was talking about. “I’m not asking people to be my fans and like me because that’s not normal. I’m asking people to stop thinking that way and also to stop jumping on this story and attacking me and pulling me down in any way.”
“I’m not saying this out of pity. Why is it good to go ahead and beat someone up?” the actor added.
Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan began dating in late 2023 and confirmed their romance in early 2024. However, they reportedly parted ways in late 2024.
