MVNO Helium Mobile made a splash early last year with the Zero Plan, a phone plan that offered 3GB of data, 300 texts and 100 minutes of phone calls absolutely free – no hidden fees or monthly plans. The plan seemed too good to be true, but it was (at least for a while). Alas, all good things must come to an end, as Helium Mobile has now discontinued the Zero plan without any reason.
reddit user mkzio92 Noticed that Helium Mobile removed all support pages related to the Xero plan and updated its website to say, “The Xero plan is not currently being offered.”

As a Reddit user opposite_future2602 notes, Helium FAQ The page was recently updated to list only the Air and Infinity plans. There’s a new segment to answer the question on everyone’s mind: What happened to Plan Zero?

To make matters worse, users are reportedly getting messages that if they do not cancel they will be moved to the Air plan in the next billing cycle. So there is no bullying going on here, effectively ending the free ride.
However, the writing was on the wall. Earlier this year, the Xero plan lost its primary selling point of being completely free as Helium updated it to require a card on file to handle taxes and related fees. mobile report Note that Helium Mobile also decided to end its old $5 and $20 plans at the same time. These schemes were promised to customers as long as they remained customers, and that too was not fulfilled.
