King Charles has been warned about security as he arrives in the US to meet President Donald Trump.
Her Majesty is reminded of the recent attack on Donald Trump at the White House as he makes his official entry into the White House.
Speaking about potential security issues, expert Christopher Bucktin tells the Mirror: “Let’s be absolutely clear about what’s happening here. As King Charles and the Queen fly to the US, British and US security teams are not just fine-tuning schedules and convoys, they are asking a more fundamental question: is it safe enough to go ahead?”
He adds: “Diplomatic niceties removed, the honest answer is ‘no’. Not physically. Not politically. Not in any way that should give a country any solace in sending its head of state into Donald Trump’s orbit.”
The expert says: “Because, after the White House correspondents’ dinner on Saturday, during which an armed man tried to take out Trump, it’s not just about targeting one person. It’s about proximity to him, which turns everyone nearby into one.”
