Ricki Lake recently opened up and revealed the reason behind his decision to leave his ’90s daytime talk show.
The 57-year-old American television host and actress appeared in equal to maury povich Podcast, where he talked about his famous show, which ran from 1993-2004.
When asked why she resigned from the show, Lake said that the events she witnessed during 9/11 forced her to leave New York, which ultimately led to her exit from the show.
“I could probably do this for a decade longer,” she said of her thoughts to Povich.
The host emphasized that he and serial mother The star left his shows at the peak of his career as well as when the show was receiving the highest ratings.
Lake said, “I made that choice. 9/11 was a major change in my life. Every aspect of my life changed after witnessing that experience from my West Village apartment that day.”
