A leak yesterday gave us renders of Samsung’s upcoming smart glasses, and we obviously assume these will be called Galaxy Glasses. Now, Samsung has pretty much confirmed it through an app update.
We’re talking about the Nearby Device Scanning app, which is part of Samsung’s One UI on Galaxy phones and tablets, and ensures you can quickly connect to nearby devices – like the upcoming Galaxy Glasses. The second line of the app’s latest changelog references “Glasses quick pair”, as well as a “battery pop up” for them, as you can see in the first screenshot below.

Samsung Nearby Device Scanning App Update
So it’s now pretty much confirmed, the Samsung glasses will be called Galaxy Glass (while Galaxy is missing from the changelog above, Samsung has always used this for its mobile products, so we highly suspect that won’t be the case this time – it’s probably an omission by whoever wrote this changelog).
As you may have already gathered, the changelog for the Nearby Device Scanning app also revealed that you’ll be able to display the battery level of your Galaxy Glass on your Samsung phone or tablet in the same way you can already do for the Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watch.
The Galaxy Glasses could be unveiled at Samsung’s Summer Unpacked event, which is likely to be held in July. They will reportedly have a 12MP camera, a 155mAh battery, no screen, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 chipset, with support for both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
