Sarah Ferguson is reportedly pushing for a dramatic return to the royal family by demanding a face-to-face meeting with King Charles.
The demand from Prince Andrew’s ex-wife is being described as a “make or break” bid to clear his name, according to insiders.
The former Duchess of York has been keeping a low profile since falling out with the royal family and is said to feel “abandoned” by them.
He told an American-based entertainment site, he is eager to present his side of the story directly to King in hopes of softening his stance.
“In her view, she deserves to sit down with Charles to clarify the situation and make her point. She’s not backing down from this,” the insider told the publication.
He added, “To be clear, what she craves most at this point is a proper explanation, a chance to sit down with some of those senior royals and provide them with her true version of events.
“She truly believes that she has earned this right, not just because she is considered a member of the family but for all the loyalty and support she has shown to them in the past during their various crises.”
However, the source said the more she tried to push for the meeting, the more King Charles became suspicious of it.
He added, “The problem is that the more pressure she applies, the worse she makes it for herself. If she leaves quietly and accepts that she is no longer welcome in their circle, she might actually be allowed to come back one day.”
