Thousands of residents are without power after the storm swept through the area, causing widespread power outages in several counties.
According to AES Corporation’s outage map, 13,831 customers were without power as of 8:35 a.m., with the majority of outages reported in Montgomery and Greene counties.
Montgomery County recorded the highest number of affected customers with 8,452 outages, followed by Greene County with 4,738.
Minor outages were reported in Champaign, Preble, Logan, Miami and Darke counties.
Separately, FirstEnergy reported that 410 customers in Clark County were also without power.
There have been power outages in the area after an overnight storm, though officials have not yet released details about the extent of the damage or a timeline for restoration.
Utility crews are expected to continue working to restore power when conditions allow.
