George Clooney has opened up about the reality of being honored and shared why it’s not as glamorous as it looks.
talking with people magazine At the 51st Chaplin Awards ceremony in New York City on April 27, the Oscar winner, who attended the event with his wife Amal Clooney, admitted that being the center of attention can feel a little uncomfortable.
For those unaware, the annual ceremony, held by Film at Lincoln Center, celebrates significant contributions to cinema and is named after Charlie Chaplin, its first honoree in 1972.
When Clooney was asked how he prepares for such events, he joked, “I think you drink.”
He added, “It’s weird – a little embarrassing, if you want to know the truth. But it’s fun.”
Additionally, Clooney admitted that he often looks to his wife for guidance, though not necessarily for red carpet advice.
“No, she doesn’t hint at it to me, but in general, I defer to her for almost any smart answer,” he said in conclusion.
