A 20-year-old woman was allegedly raped by three men while she was out with her fiance. The alleged attack is understood to have taken place on Friday in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh in India and police have arrested two people.
Police say the alleged incident took place in Khaga Kotwali area when the couple stopped on their way to a relative’s house due to the scorching heat. Two men allegedly came near them and started abusing them. The suspects then allegedly attacked the man and held him hostage while they raped the woman.
A third suspect was reportedly later called to the scene, where all three men allegedly took turns assaulting him for about three hours.
According to the victims, they were beaten, threatened and forced to transfer ₹2,500 (£20) online to the man, reports Hindustan Times.
The couple also alleged that they were forced to make a video saying “nothing had happened”, as they were warned not to alert the police.
Police have arrested two men, Lalit and Yuvraj Singh, on suspicion of rape and extortion.
While another suspect, Bablu Singh, is still at large, a reward of ₹50,000 (£390) is being offered for information leading to his whereabouts.
