Apple has impressed once again with iOS 26.4, introducing a small but valuable feature that solves a common gripe for iPhone users – especially those who wear an Apple Watch to sleep.
As Reuters reports, the latest update allows users to play games simultaneously on both their iPhone and Apple Watch, even while wearing the watch in bed.
Previously, if an Apple Watch was worn during sleep, an alarm set on an iPhone would only produce a haptic vibration on the wrist rather than an audible sound.
Many users find it difficult to rely solely on silent haptics, which while useful in some situations—waking up has not always proven effective.
The new “Always Play on iPhone” feature changes this behavior; When enabled, alarms will sound on both iPhone and Apple Watch, providing a stronger and more reliable wake-up call. Currently, these settings are available to users with sleep schedules and can be found in both the Clock app and the Health app on the iPhone.
Since this feature is off by default, users will have to enable it manually. While this may seem like a minor adjustment, it addresses a long-standing limitation and underscores Apple’s focus on small details that improve daily routines.
Furthermore, time will tell how users react to this update and how it shapes their overall experience.
