This was the first sporting event I attended in my semester abroad. We were given pink wigs to wear in support of breast cancer awareness, specifically to raise money for the McGrath Foundation in honor of the late Australian basketball player Tiana Mangakahia. Before the game started, my friends and I took a picture together in pink wigs. Wearing the wig made me feel connected to the larger purpose of the show, beyond just watching the game.
