Obviously, there has been a lot of anticipation surrounding the film and the press looks. You say you like to start with how a person wants to feel. What was the process like and what were some of the key shapes for this press tour?
In the process of creating a press tour like this, it is a constant dialogue. You can make decisions about what you think will work, but then you need to stay focused because things are happening in real time. There are many artists you are working with. You just want to keep growing, making things better, refining and rearranging.
One of the things I love about the original film is its exploration of the depth of fashion and the joy it can provide, and its transformative power. So, really finding ways to explore those themes in every fashion tool we have through the options on this tour.
From colors to textures, shapes to silhouettes to designer ranges. Bringing attention to new designers, while honoring the ones we know and love. Basically, for me, fashion should be a means to bring us our own happiness.

I want to talk about Tokyo. Anne was in an updated version of this beautiful, ruffled Valentino Couture dress and rockstud heels, which is also a little Easter egg from what we’ve seen. trailer. Can you talk to me a little bit about that look and the significance of that shoe and why it came together for Tokyo?
That look, it felt like a unique, perfect way to debut in Asia and Tokyo. Even the origami effect of the dress felt Japanese. The color story was obviously excellent. I love the white Rockstud shoe. The new shape is excellent. This is very good. Ankle strap placement and two toe cracks. is so pretty. It’s a really great update on the genre that I think a lot of people thought about. If I had to place a bet, I’d say it’s definitely back, and it looks better than ever.

Let’s talk a little about Selena Gomez. That’s another client, I feel like together you have inaugurated a new style era. Talk to me about how you focused on the most important thing, which is Selena and her essence, and what she wanted to create with you?
First of all, she’s an amazing, beautiful person, but she’s also someone who uses her platform to make the world a better place and connect with people in a real way. I always feel like it needs to be real and candid and really just a vehicle to help him and his message shine.
I’ve found with her, less can be more, and letting her beautiful essence shine has really been the point.
I want to talk about an early look you worked on together, which is for the VMAs, and she wore a custom, red beaded Oscar de la Renta gown that instantly went viral. What are some of your favorite references or brands and designers for Selena (Gomez)?
I feel like, context-wise, we’ve hit such a good place with old Hollywood and Sophia Loren and décolletage shapes and just beautiful, deep colors and impactful, but streamlined silhouettes — trying not to do anything too extreme or too heavy. The glam team is amazing, and the team she works with is amazing and supportive. I think everyone was simultaneously focused on “How are we trying to tell this story?” We were all on the same page, which makes it stronger.
In general, when you work with someone on their glam team, you want to use each other and be on the same page. Certainly when you are united you are more powerful.
