Living in NYC, I don’t care what you say—the weather hasn’t been great so far this spring. We had 70 degree weather for a few days, and since then I’ve been back in my fall coat and saying “I’m cold” again, so I’m super excited to go on a trip to LA with continued nice, sunny weather.
Since I’ll be there for an entire month, I’m wondering what to pack. I gravitate towards a more minimalist wardrobe that looks put together while also being comfortable, and I like to keep an outfit formula to keep things simple. Instead of throwing a random assortment in my suitcase, this helps ensure I bring combinations that actually make sense.
For inspiration, I started looking at photos—from LA born and raised Devon Lee Carlson became LA influencer Christy Tyler in New York.
Below, I’ve put together some warm weather outfits inspired by outfits I’ve seen people wearing in Los Angeles recently.
Quarter-sleeve top + knee-length skirt
T-shirt + pointe skirt
I had already planned to get my CDLP ribbed stretch lyocell and cotton-blend t-shirt and Koo Koo pointelle slip skirt in black, so seeing this dress confirmed it. When it’s hot, I love wearing pointe because it’s so easy and breathable.
Tank Top + Capris + Kitten Heel Sandals
Trench Coat + Capris + Ballet Flats
I’ll definitely still bring my Rue Sophie Styled with a trench coat, capris and my Carol ballet flats when it’s cooler in the morning or evening.
