After Google launched Gemini Assistant for Google-equipped vehicles, auto maker Polestar has now confirmed that Gemini will be coming to its vehicles. The update has now started seeding Polestar models in the US with Google accounts set to US English. Hans Bleckert, Connected Car Manager at Polestar, comments:
The Google Gemini Polestar represents a fundamental change for drivers and how they interact with their vehicles. Together with Google, we replace outdated command structures with an advanced AI model that enables free-flowing interactions between Polestar vehicles and drivers. And this is just the beginning. With Gemini, we are entering a new era of possibilities focused on creating better user experiences.
This update will provide drivers and passengers with more natural, hands-free assistant interactions, including support for route planning, answering common questions, and more. Eligible Polestar drivers will see an option on their display to choose or decline the update to Gemini. Polestar said the update will be available on all Polestar models except the Polestar 1.
In related news, General Motors recently announced that it is bringing the Gemini to select car models, including approximately 4 million vehicles in the United States.
