King Charles arrived in Bermuda for a solo royal visit following the conclusion of his and Queen Camilla’s state visit to the United States.
Buckingham Palace said Friday that the king will hold a day-long engagement in Bermuda, his first royal visit as sovereign of the British Overseas Territory.
The king and queen wrapped up their four-day state visit to the US on Thursday with a brief stop at the White House to bid farewell to President Donald Trump.
According to the BBC, the king was not accompanied by the queen as he made a low-key entry into the territory’s capital, Hamilton, where a formal welcome was expected on Friday.
The King was welcomed by the Governor of Bermuda, Andrew Murdoch, and the Prime Minister of Bermuda, David Burt, accompanied by a small guard of honor formed by the Royal Bermuda Regiment.
Meanwhile, Rani will remain in America for the time being.
