I don’t think I’ve ever been so scared – Kyle Jamieson on Vaibhav Suryavanshi
Kyle Jamieson talked about dismissing teenage batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi and admitted that it felt like a tough challenge. Jamieson said he felt relieved when his plan worked and he led Delhi Capitals to early success.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been that scared of a 15-year-old in my life. But yeah, we obviously put some planning into the game and it’s nice that it paid off,” Jamieson said.
Starc made a strong comeback in the IPL by taking three wickets against Rajasthan Royals. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi were out early, but Ryan Parag and Dhruv Jurel added 109 runs for the third wicket. Parag scored 90, while Donovan Ferreira made a quickfire 47 to take the total to 225/6.
It was good to get it away early and thus – Kyle Jamieson
Kyle Jamieson said that Rajasthan Royals are heavily dependent on their opening batsmen for fast starts in the power play. The fast bowler said he and Mitchell Starc focused on getting him out early to control the game. He was satisfied that his yorkers helped slow down Rajasthan’s pace.
“Most teams look at the Rajasthan side, their top two especially have set them up for flyers and Starc-y got one with the old high full toss and I got one with the yorker, so it was good to get that away quickly and I think should ease the flow a bit in the powerplay”.
He is world class – Kyle Jamieson praises Mitchell Starc
Mitchell Starc has strengthened the bowling attack of Delhi Capitals in the crucial phase of the tournament. Kyle Jamieson said that having a world-class player like Starc helps the team, especially when they try to climb the points table. He said that playing with an experienced fast bowler feels special.
“He’s world-class, right? So whenever you can get one of those guys in your team, you know, it’s a big advantage, so it came at the right time. We needed to move up a bit in the standings. It’s great to have him and yes, it’s very surreal”.
