In late 2025, a beta version of WhatsApp’s app hinted at an upcoming design overhaul in line with the so-called Liquid Glass design language, which Apple began using with its most recent iOS. Users began reporting the main chat screen as well as smaller UI elements being redesigned.
A new report from WABetaInfoHowever, that suggests WhatsApp is almost ready to release a redesigned in-chat interface. Interestingly, these changes are not even available to beta users, but WABetaInfo managed to activate the new interface which now includes a floating chat bar and a translucent navigation bar.
Don’t hold your breath just yet, though, because it looks like Meta is taking a very casual approach to releasing the new design. Many users still haven’t received the redesigned UI elements, so it seems it will take even longer to see a full overhaul. Also, once the redesign is fully completed we will see it becoming available to the average user.
