A scene from the beloved Disney film Enchanted surprisingly depicts a store labeled “Epstein’s Books” – as a close connection between one of the film’s producers and a pedophile may be revealed.
The 2007 family film features a cartoon princess wandering into the real world of New York City – and ends with a scene where the characters are making gowns for children.
In the sequence, a group of young girls in princess attire is shown, but when the camera pans to the next shot, it goes straight to a storefront bookstore, prominently labeled “Epstein Books”.
While this may have been a coincidence, The Epstein Files highlights the deep personal and professional relationship between Enchanted creator Barry Josephson and the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, raising questions about whether its inclusion was an intentional reference.
Josephson, 70, who served as one of the two main producers of Enchanted, appears extensively in the files — sharing numerous emails and even posing for photos with Epstein.

In one, the pair are sitting in the director’s tent, while in another they are surrounded by young women whose faces have been erased on the set.
In another Josephson, who has worked in films and TV shows including Bones, Dirty Grandpa and Kiss of the Spider Woman, pretends to tie an unknown woman to some railway tracks.
The pair emailed each other several times between 2010 and 2018, with Josephson taking out a loan from Epstein and even arranging an audition for Enchanted for the financier’s paternal grandmother Selina Dubin.
In a shocking email exchange from 2011 – years after Epstein’s conviction for child sex crimes, the hunter asked Josephson if he knew of “any wonderful women in their early 20s who would like to be assistants”.
Josephson responded by recommending a woman who had worked for him on two previous films, stating: “I have ‘that’ girl. Her name is (redacted). She worked on two films for me. Young, attractive, crazy rack, smart, though not talented, but very skilled. Can do anything, and the story ended with silence.”
Josephson later offered to provide her with contact information or to call Epstein directly from Los Angeles.
The filmmaker also arranged for women and girls known to Epstein to audition for parts in the film – including his granddaughter Selina Dubin.
In a 2011 email after Selena’s audition, Epstein angrily wrote: “I can’t tell you how angry I was to hear that someone was being rude to my daughter. You have no idea.”
Josephson wrote a long email, saying: “She said he just gave her the same feedback she gives all the young actors who come in.
“The whole audition process is brutal, rigorous, full of frustration.”
He further described how difficult it was to get his own wife a “little six-line part” on Bones.
He further added, “I have apologized to Eva (Celina’s mother). And I am reluctant to call Selena directly. If you want me to talk to her kindly, to apologize directly, I will do that. Also if you want me to arrange another ‘kind and gentle’ audition I can do that easily.”
“Again I’m sorry and I will do anything to improve.”
In 2015, he also offered to help Epstein make a film about men who have been “falsely accused” by women.
Josephson offered the script through his company, writing: “Certainly the other side of the coin is not covered by news outlets.”
According to the files, he borrowed $120,000 from Epstein in 2011 and $215,000 in 2013, both of which were repaid.
In another email from 2013, he listed his expected future earnings – including $300,000 for Enchanted – and wrote: “As in the past, I will pay you back as quickly as possible, including interest.
“Again, I’m very fortunate to have a friend who would consider helping me in a difficult cash flow moment.”
Josephson often told Epstein what a good friend he was, including in 2013 when he emailed him saying: “You’re an amazing friend! I wouldn’t do anything for you.”
A year earlier, he had written to Epstein: “Hope you succeed and as always thank you for saving me”.
In another gushing email he wrote: “I am overwhelmed by your friendship.”
Josephson was also in regular contact with Epstein’s primary assistant, Leslie Groff, regarding introductions and coordination meetings.
Communication continued until in late June 2018, the two men arranged to meet at a pizza restaurant in New York City.
Josephson’s wife – singer Brooke Josephson – announced after her name was revealed in the files that she was divorcing the Hollywood producer, with whom she had two children.
Announcing the news on Instagram in February, she wrote: “In light of recent events in the news this week I’m ready to share a personal update.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been in my room like a rat trapped in a trap, waiting for a knock on the door and someone saying, ‘Jeffrey is now ready for his massage’.”
When Davis was asked what that order meant, he replied: “Rape, outright, forcible sexual rape.”
“Barry Josephson and I are going through a divorce. I was not aware of Barry’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein during our entire marriage.
“I respectfully request privacy and prayers for myself and my children during this time.”
A representative told The Sun: “Mr Josephson had no role in suggesting or choosing any names in Enchanted. All names came from either the writers or the director.”
The Sun has contacted Disney for comment.
In previous reaction to the publication DiversityIn February, Josephson admitted that while she socialized with Epstein and allowed him to visit her on the set twice, she never traveled on his private jet or saw him with minors.
He said, “There is no excuse for what I said in some of my emails. The language was rude and childish and I am embarrassed.”
Josephson said: “My biggest regret, bar none, is that I foolishly believed his denials of wrongdoing… I apologize to everyone who was hurt by this clearly horrible and corrupt man.”
