Princess Eugenie once talked about her learnings as a mother.
The York Princess, who shares two children with husband Jack Brooksbank, and is expecting to welcome her third child this summer, admitted she struggled with taking things for granted as a first-time mum.
Speaking on ‘Our Mothers Podcast’, she said: “For me it’s the same, trying to be perfect, not saying my mum (Sarah Ferguson) was perfect, but I think that feeling of guilt when you don’t reach your goals, trying to create the perfect world for your kids.
“I think it’s just a matter of remembering that little people are little people and we sometimes put a lot of old adult things like 34 years of adulthood on little people.
“At night, for his bath time routine, you know how stressful it is, and that’s because I love brushing my teeth and brushing my hair and taking a bath and putting my moisturizer on because I’m 34 years old but this three-and-a-half-year-old little boy doesn’t want to do any of that.
“And that’s okay, maybe one night they miss a bath or brush their teeth and that’s okay to go because they’re little people learning and they can’t be perfect.”
He added, “So I think it’s a constant thing, and mom always did that, she was always a kid too and she would rather sit and talk to a group of kids than to talk to adults.”
“She still always says, ‘No adults,’ so I think for us, as a mom, especially for me, the guilt side of things is, don’t let it ruin the days, because the days are so precious,” she said.
