Paris Hilton brings the early 2000s to Old Navy campaign

Paris Hilton is Old Navy’s new star “This is Old Navy” campaignExpressing nostalgia for the early 2000s. The shoot takes place at a backyard BBQ and pool party, based on her hit song “Stars Are Blind,” marking its 20th anniversary, featuring her mother Kathy Hilton, reality TV stars Ciara Miller and Rob Roush, and influencers Erin Miller and Eric Cedeno. Each piece worn costs less than $55 and pays homage to the brand’s heritage through wardrobe staples like vintage Navy flag T-shirts.

In a press release, Zac Posen, chief creative officer of Old Navy, shared, “Paris Hilton is the perfect summer inspiration to introduce our new campaign “It’s Old Navy,” which celebrates the joys of summer and uncovers the secret that great style is for everyone. It’s two icons coming together, Paris and Old Navy. She embodies so much of what we love: bold style and dressing for joy. I’ve known Paris since we were She was a teenager in New York. She is a fearless businesswoman and an incredible mother, always true to herself, and confident.”

Below, I talked to Hilton about the campaign, her wardrobe, Summer 2026 and “Stars Are Blind.”

How would you describe this collaboration with Old Navy?

I was so excited when I heard Zac Posen was on board Old Navy and they wanted to create a fun, iconic campaign for the summer, while also celebrating my song “Stars Are Blind.” And it was so much fun working with my mom on the set. And I love this campaign so much—like, all the outfits are so fun and colorful, and it just feels like summer. The collection is so cute, and has lots of fun things for everyone in the whole family. There are so many cute things that people can pick up for summer.

If you could choose only one item from the collection what would it be?

must be between I’m wearing a matching set Or The pink dress I wore in the ad. It’s so cute, and I think all girls will fall in love with it.

The campaign is based on backyard barbecues and pool parties. What does Paris Hilton’s BBQ pool party look like in real life?

In real life, I’m the queen of throwing parties, and especially in my new home – it’s an incredible place to entertain. And for my pool parties, it’s so fun because I have my water slide and, like, the golf course and the pink tennis court – everything in the backyard. So, it’s really fun to gather your kids with all their cousins, and invite the whole family and our friends, and just have a beautiful lunch. And there’s lots of pink and glitter and amazing music and waves. It’s so special to make all these memories together as a family. I love to entertain at my home.

The collection is made up of wardrobe staples. What are some of the most worn items in your wardrobe?

I love clothes that are easy to style, like a statement dress, or oversized sunglasses. I love matching sets—I love wearing monochrome. I like to be comfortable and always like to add sparkle to whatever I wear.

When you think of summer style, what do you feel comes to mind, and how is it reflected in your personal style?

I think summer style should be playful and confident. I really love bright colors, beautiful swimwear, you know, matching sets and pieces that are just beautiful and flattering. And in the summer, I like to feel a little more relaxed, especially when I’m at home with my kids.

Do you have any trend predictions for summer 2026, or are there any trends you’re loving right now?

I love to see that people are really enjoying fashion again – like with color, sparkle and denim. I love all that 2000s energy, but styled in a new way. And also, I think it’s adorable to see everyone really embracing these baby doll, romantic looks or coquette styles. It’s just like girls.

What would you say is on your summer 2026 bucket list?

I just love being at home and being with my kids and my husband. Or we like travelling, going on boats. I’m excited for all of my concerts this summer and especially headlining several festivals around the world during Pride. So I just can’t wait for the show. I love connecting with my fans through my music. Yes. So, I’m excited for the summer with family and my music.

Obviously, “Stars Are Blind” is pretty iconic – I remember listening to this song over and over again when it came out, and how crazy is it to now be celebrating a milestone anniversary of it. So, I was curious, when you listen to it today, what does it make you feel?

Thank you. I’m so glad you liked it, and it makes me emotional, grateful and so happy that this song has brought so much joy to so many people. And it’s really special to me how much it means to people. And so many people have told me that it’s their wedding song, or the song they walked down the aisle to, or it’s the song that got them through a tough time. So, it always touches my heart, and it’s really incredible when I perform it on stage and just look out at the crowd and see everyone everywhere singing it to me. And it’s such a beautiful connection, and it makes me feel proud to have such a timeless and iconic pop song.

What do you think the song is about and has your understanding of it changed over time?

“Stars Are Blind” is about love and being vulnerable, and that feeling when you’re completely caught up in the moment. And it’s absolutely timeless. Over time, it made me realize even more what a powerful song it is. I feel as if I am a carrier of happiness and joy. And I feel like when you listen to that song, it instantly lifts your mood. It’s amazing to see that every generation really loves and connects with the song on such a deep level. And it’s an absolute classic.

I was also thinking about trends and how they are so cyclical. Are there any trends that you remember from the era when the song came out that you feel like you’re still interested in today?

Sure—like, I invented Y2K fashion. Just to see so many people love it and be inspired by it – I just love the tracksuits, the oversized sunglasses, the bedazzled everything, the slogan tees. Everything I wore then, I still love. That era was the most fun time in fashion. So, I love that people can freely embrace themselves, and who they really are, and just be free and enjoy it.

Are there any current songs that you think will have the same lasting power as “Stars Are Blind”?

Definitely anything by Sia – I love her so much. She’s one of my best friends, and it was an honor to have her be the executive producer and writer of my entire album. I’m so grateful to her for everything, and I’m so proud of my album with her, and I feel like she’s the greatest songwriter I’ve ever had, and all her songs are just timeless, iconic.
