A shocking allegation has come to light amid the IPL 2026 season. It is reported that the girlfriend of an IPL cricketer is suspected of leaking information related to the team not once but twice.
Somehow the franchise came to know about the incident and without any delay the franchise officials contacted the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and discussed the incident.

Recently it was revealed that the board is considering banning the girlfriend culture in the Indian Premier League. The matter is under discussion and a final decision is yet to be taken.
Nowadays, there are many players who are openly spotted with their girlfriends. Many might have wondered why BCCI suddenly wants to limit the girlfriend culture. Now the reason has been revealed.
“A girlfriend of an IPL cricketer, who was allegedly caught twice giving team information to outsiders, could be one of the reasons behind BCCI implementing new advisories for players and support staff,” Cricblogger reported in its latest report.
The report further claims, “It has also been reliably learned that after the anomaly was discovered, the franchise owner immediately contacted the board and sought to issue a detailed list of do’s and don’ts for the entire cricket fraternity.”
BCCI is preparing to bring strict rules in the near future
It has also been claimed that the franchises have requested the board to take some important steps so that vital information of the teams in the league is protected and the integrity of the league remains intact. Earlier there was news that cricketers’ girlfriends may be banned, but it is not certain that BCCI is going to do so. But it is certain that the board is going to bring strict rules to keep the inside information safe and to keep the highly professional structure untouched.
“Sources said the franchise has also sought a ban on girlfriends and any other loose cannons that could potentially jeopardize the integrity of the game. The media report further claims that it is unclear whether the BCCI may outright ban girlfriends, but there are strict rules in place to ensure that sensitive team information remains secure.”
Another source on the news website said, “The Indian Cricket Board has taken the matter very seriously and people associated with the teams should strictly follow all the protocols set for them.”
Many star cricketers were seen with their girlfriends during IPL 2026
Star Indian cricketers like Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan were seen with their girlfriends in the ongoing IPL 2026 season. There are some other cricketers who are also in relationships. Of course, the claims in the report are explosive, but no one’s name has been revealed.
