An argument broke out between Nicholas Pooran and Krunal Pandya in match number 50 between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. The two were seen chatting during the first innings, when LSG was batting to win the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match.
The incident occurred due to rain when the wicket of RCB all-rounder Arshin Kulkarni was taken. Then the first ball he bowled to Nicholas Pooran was a bouncer and the second ball was also a bouncer and this time Pooran took a single. After Nicholas Pooran went to the non-striker’s end, the two came close to each other, exchanging a few words.
Friendly match between Nicholas Puran and Krunal Pandya
Nicholas Pooran and Krunal Pandya were teammates at Lucknow Super Giants during the 2023 and 2024 IPL seasons. The West Indies superstar has faced Krunal three times and has scored 26 runs at a strike rate of 152.94, hitting a few sixes and a four. However, the words exchanged are still unknown.
However, it is believed that this was a friendly exchange, as fans have often seen players who have played with each other for the same franchise then play against each other.
Nicholas Pooran is struggling with form
Nicholas Pooran has struggled in this IPL as he has scored 159 runs at an average of 17.67 while he has scored only one half-century so far this season with a strike rate of 121.37. In today’s game he is unbeaten after scoring 14 runs on 9 balls.
Puran will look to build on his half-century from the last game and score some runs tonight too. LSG are in good position with the score at 145/1 at the end of 14 overs. He will look to firepower after rain interrupted play as the game was stopped once again, for the third time.
Krunal Pandya is a trouble-shooter for RCB
Krunal Pandya is also in good form in this IPL. He has taken 10 wickets in 10 matches so far in the tournament and has bowled well in the middle overs. However, he has not had much batting this season.
But of course, Krunal Pandya has reinvented himself at RCB, as he was the player of the match in the final against Punjab Kings (PBKS) last season. Today he has also taken one wicket, which is the only wicket so far in the innings.
Talking about sports, Mitchell Marsh has scored his second IPL century in just 49 balls. From the beginning of the match, he looked in great form during his inning of 145 runs.
Marsh himself has scored 107 runs so far and remains unbeaten. It is important for LSG to win this match, if they fail to win then they will probably be out of IPL 2026 and become the first team.
