Kesha recently opened up about the fact that she turned her mother’s umbilical cord into a necklace.
The 39-year-old pop star has revealed that when she gave birth to her daughter her mother Rosemary ordered doctors not to throw away her placenta and the new mom took it home, cooked it and stored it in a box in the family basement for two decades, before Kesha rediscovered it and turned it into the piece of jewellery, which she now carries with her everywhere.

Kesha explained, “So your placenta supposedly gives you second sight, helps open your third eye. That’s according to my mother. So, they put it in the oven. They put it in a box, and they found it when I was 21, in the basement…”
“He fought for it (to keep doctors from throwing it away), so now I walk around with it…” she said.
blow The singer also mentioned making the cord into jewelry, “Put it in the blender, put it in a necklace. Do the work!”
Kesha continued, “I love a good ritual. Okay? Like, I’m a cult leader… and I just, I love a ritual that reminds me of this kind of esoteric world that I love to live in.”
The pop star said, “Like down here on Earth, it’s boring. But when I go up into the whole realm of my spiritual guides and angels, it’s like. Like, that’s where I love to be. It’s kind of fun.”
Kesha also collects teeth and makes them into jewelery which shows that she has specimens from her loved ones as well as her beloved cats.
“It reminds me of when I have a little piece of people I love. I’ve been collecting them for quite some time now… My cats had to have their little teeth pulled out because I didn’t know which one they were,” she said.
“They’re little cat wisdom teeth. I collect those too. I’m like the tooth fairy,” Kesha said, explaining her hobby of keeping things really close to her loved ones.
