Edgar Cervantes / Android Authority
TL;DR
- Earlier this week, users on iOS began reporting a new look to the animations surrounding the Gemini Bar.
- Although we didn’t see it on Android at that time, users are now seeing a similar look on their phones.
- The animation adds a flowing, halftone-like dot pattern to Gemini’s glowing colors.
Since Google Gemini is available in so many places, it shouldn’t be a big surprise that changes don’t always happen everywhere, all at once. And while most of the time Android users enjoy the privilege of being the first in line to see Google’s latest mobile changes, that’s not necessarily always the case. Earlier this week we saw iPhone users get their first look at the next evolution of Gemini’s UI – and now we’re finally hearing about its proliferation on Android.
Don’t want to miss the best of Android Authority?

We’ve been tracking Google’s progress toward bringing a new look to Gemini’s UI for quite some time now, and a few days ago, iPhone users started sharing new animations that they were seeing. Even not all of them had access to the new look with the texture-dotted halftone appearance, but at least some did – and we still hadn’t gotten a whiff of it on Android. But that mistake seems to have been rectified, as Telegram user uhsic shared this screen recording with us:
Right now, it’s still a tease, as access appears to be quite limited – we haven’t seen it on our devices yet. We also haven’t yet been able to confirm whether some of the other UI changes seen on iOS are similarly starting to impact Gemini on Android, like the new look for the Plus menu that we separately saw in limited testing on Android last month.
Is Gemini already sporting this new look on your Android phone? lucky you! Head over to the comments below and give us your take on Gemini’s latest glow. Is it a sure win, or are you less impressed?
