This is the moment a drone which was “laden with explosives” was towed into the harbor of a popular British holiday hotspot after being released into the sea.
Authorities have launched an investigation into a mysterious unmanned naval drone discovered by local fishermen off the Greek coast.
The group found the device in a remote cave near Lefkada and transported it to the nearby port of Vasiliki on Thursday.
After their arrival they alerted the coast guard.
Video footage of the moment it was brought in shows the large black submarine-esque ship being towed by a Greek coast guard boat.

After the strange discovery in the Ionian Sea, the Ministry of Defense took control of the incident.
According to local media, the weapon’s engine was still running when it was recovered, along with several explosives.
The drone was loaded with several explosives and three detonators. Proto Thema reported.

According to newspaper Ta Nia, the drone resembles Ukraine’s MAGURA V5 drone – which has been used effectively on several occasions.
The claim has not yet been confirmed, although similar shipwrecks have been found off the coast of Crete.
