Following King Charles and Queen Camilla’s visit to the United States, speculation of tension between the Queen and Kate Middleton has resurfaced.
Royal insiders claim Camilla has become determined to protect her position within the monarchy amid the Princess of Wales’s popularity, with Charles returning from the tour feeling more confident after receiving public attention.
An insider tells nearest magazine“Camilla is like the cat that ate the canary. Wherever she and Charles went on this tour, they were treated like absolute rock stars.”
He said, “They are coming off this tour victorious, everyone is praising them for how well they represented Britain and the goodwill they created between the two countries in America. Camila had quite a few moments to herself, she did her share of speeches and events and by all accounts it was a huge success.”
The Queen reportedly spent a lot of time “worrying” about Kate being “too picky”. However, she is now said to have “completely changed” as she believes she is “as popular as Kate.”
Tension rose between the two after Camilla reportedly gave Kate Middleton a four-word warning: “We’re not going anywhere.”
According to sources, this comment means that despite public interest in Prince William and Kate’s future reign, neither King Charles nor Queen Camilla are planning to step down any time soon.
“They’ve had this uneasy truce for a long time, but they think it’s best to get things out in the open and let Kate know who’s the boss, rather than dance around it,” the source said.
He added, “She even went so far as to take Kate aside and tell her that she and William need to cool their jets because she and Charles have no plans to step aside. She’s overjoyed and it gave her the encouragement she needed to warn Kate.”
On the other hand, sources revealed that the Princess of Wales has “no interest” in replacing Camilla.
The source said, “In fact, she would be the first to tell you that she hopes Charles and Camilla’s reign will be long and healthy. She just wants to help them and serve the Crown in the best way possible. Despite Camilla’s fears, Kate is handling things with her trademark grace.”
He added, “Although she accepts Kate is an asset, Camilla feels threatened. And of course all this is happening at the same time as Charles is struggling for power with William.”
