Meghan Markle could cause trouble for Prince Harry with her latest partnership.
The touch of the Sussexes, who have teamed up with an AI-powered shopping platform, could create problems for Prince Harry’s legal battle over the right to taxpayer-funded security.
Stacey Shevarian, a royal journalist, said: “If Harry wins back the right to have taxpayer-funded security for himself and his family, how will it work when he and Meghan visit the UK?
“Will Meghan use those trips – which may be filled with charity functions – also as an opportunity to generate income, as she did with the couple’s Australian tour? If she does, critics will rightly question whether taxpayers should be footing the bill for security,” he said.
Prince Harry left the royal family in 2020 along with wife Meghan Markle and son Prince Archie. The couple later accused the royal family of showing racism towards their son and shared their grievances publicly on television. Harry and Meghan now live in California, where they also welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet.
