an encounter with god
“So I was left alone, looking at this great sight, with no strength left in me, my face turned deathly pale and I was helpless.” – Daniel 10:8
Daniel received a vision that troubled him greatly. He wanted to understand this vision. He tried to understand the philosophy by fasting for three weeks. Three days after his three-week fast, an angel of God appeared to Daniel. The angel explained that heaven had heard his prayer from the first day, but the angel was temporarily blocked from coming by the Prince of Persia, a demon angel who wanted to prevent God’s angel from coming to Daniel.
There come times in our lives when we must seek God with all our heart. During these times we hear from heaven in ways we may have never experienced before. Daniel’s persistence in prayer was rewarded with a personal encounter with heaven. However, in order to receive from God, Daniel had to be left alone, his strength removed, and placed in a helpless state. When we do not have our own power to move the heavens or the events around us, we are in a position to hear from the heavens. It is the acknowledgment of our humanity and our weakness that places us in a position to have a personal encounter with the living God.
Do you need a personal encounter with God today? Do you need God to intervene on your behalf? Seek Him with all your heart. Show her that you are serious. Be alone and admit your helpless condition before him. He will reward you with his presence.
