As someone who works in the beauty industry, I always hear stories of fellow editors being stopped on the Tube or approached on a night out because their perfume smells so good. I’ve tested a lot of great fragrances over the years, but I had yet to have a moment where someone was so desperate to know about a fragrance I was wearing. Of course, it’s no big deal, but I must say, I was a Part I was jealous of all the compliments I was getting from people around me. However, ever since I discovered this summery scent combination, I’ve actually had people following me on the street (and stopping me in Ubers) telling me how good my perfume is. Add vanilla and coconut perfume.
Although some people are big fans of delicious perfumes, others cannot stand them. For example, I love vanilla scents, but I’m not as attracted to sweet, juicy, fruity scents. That being said, scents that combine vanilla and coconut are always up my alley.
The warm, sweet notes of vanilla combine perfectly with the creamy, milky, nutty notes of coconut, creating a sophisticated scent that feels summery as well as elegant. Although this combination is nothing new, in my opinion, there are only a few fragrances on the market that really get it right. Below, you’ll find my short edit of the best vanilla and coconut perfumes that will bring you endless compliments this season.
Best Vanilla and Coconut Perfume
1. Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess
Estee Lauder
Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche Skinscent
Key Notes: Amber, Coconut Milk, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Bergamot, Tiare Flower, Jasmine, Lavender
I had to start with the classic, right? One of my favorite summer perfumes of all time, Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess is completely delightful. Coconut notes take center stage, creating a creamy, tropical scent that settles on the skin like silk. Hints of vanilla add even more warmth to this solar fragrance, creating a sensual tone that makes it a great choice for both day and night.
2. Summer Fridays Sunshine-filled Vanilla

If you like your perfumes on the sweet side, you’ll love this new launch from Summer Fridays. A blend of caramel, coconut and vanilla, it smells like a summer dessert. It cocoons the senses in a warm, sweet aroma, with creamy coconut undertones creating a well-rounded finish.
3. Erin Hibiscus Palm
Erin
Hibiscus Palm Eau De Parfum
Key Notes: Lotus Flower, Hibiscus Palm, Ylang-Ylang, Ginger, Coconut Milk, Vanilla, Musk
When it comes to luxury fragrances, you can’t go wrong with Erin. Hibiscus Palm is an incredibly sophisticated scent that, in my opinion, smells like a five-star tropical resort. A blend of uplifting florals, coconut milk and decadent vanilla, it’s sweet and creamy without feeling sickly on the skin. Adding ginger adds a bit of spice, making everything more intoxicating.
4. Sol de Janeiro Chairosa ’71
sol de janeiro
Chairosa ’71 Perfume Mist
Key Notes: Caramelized vanilla, sea salt, toasted macadamia nut, white chocolate, tonka bean, coconut blossom
The key notes may sound a bit like my favorite cookie recipe, which is probably why Sol de Janeiro smells good enough to eat. In fact, in our roundup of the best Sol de Janeiro perfume mists, Who Wears What UK Beauty Editor eleanor wausden He said that this particular fragrance won him the most compliments out of all the fragrances. “If you want a mouth-wateringly delicious, triple caramel aroma, this is for you,” she says.
5. Le Monde Gourmand Latte de Coco
Le Monde Gourmand
Latte de Coco Eau de Parfum
Key Notes: Bergamot, Vanilla Praline, Creamy Coconut
What I like about vanilla and coconut perfume is that you don’t have to spend a lot of money for its delicious scent. For example, Le Monde Gourmand’s Latte de Coco. This is a super creamy, coconut perfume that smells like summer in the bottle. Bergamot adds a zesty, citrusy allure, while vanilla praline transforms the aroma into a sweet, warm scent.
6. Jo Malone London Beach Blossom
jo malone london
Beach Blossom Cologne
Key Notes: Lemon, Coconut Water, Mint, Tonka Bean
Finally, let’s talk about Jo Malone London Beach Blossom Cologne. This perfume is a little different from the above scents as it contains notes of lemon and coconut water, creating a refreshing, citrusy scent, perfect if you’re not into that. In fact Creamy coconut scent. To me, it feels like the first dip in the ocean after a long, cold winter. It’s refreshing, but the tonka bean base adds hidden depth that lingers on the skin long after it’s sprayed on.
