Elon Musk previously warned Christopher Nolan not to cast Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy.
In his view, this would be an “insult” to Homer, the ancient Greek poet who wrote The Odyssey.
The owner of the Ax said the poet described Helen as “fair skinned, fair and with ‘a face that could launch a thousand ships’ because she was so beautiful that men started wars for her.”
But when Nyong’o’s casting as Helen of Troy and in the second role of Helen’s sister Clytemnestra were also confirmed.
Tesla bosses are probably furious.
Angered by Nolan’s decision, Musk commented “True” in response to commentator Matt Walsh’s post.
The conservative firebrand wrote, “Not a single person on this planet actually thinks Lupita Nyong’o is ‘the most beautiful woman in the world’.”
“But Christopher Nolan knows that if he gave the role of ‘Most Beautiful Woman’ to a white woman he would be called a racist. Nolan is technically brilliant but a coward.”
However, Nyong’o wasn’t the only casting choice Musk is crazy about.
Elliot Page is another.
The actor, who is transgender, has also been included in the cast of The Odyssey.
Nolan, for his part, defended his various choices in the film, which hits theaters July 17.
