Motorola’s first book-style foldable is finally here. After checking it out at CES and MWC earlier this year, I was curious to see the price and how it compared to two popular models from Samsung and Google. I’ve tried all three foldables and have some thoughts.

    Also: Motorola Razr Fold review

They each have their own unique appeal, but that doesn’t mean all three have the same value. Some people may prefer a thinner, lighter design, while others may want a more durable form factor. Here’s what the new one is like motorola razr fold compares to samsung galaxy z fold 7 And google pixel 10 pro fold. And which one is perfect for you.

You should buy the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 if…

    1. You want the thinnest and lightest foldable phone possible

Samsung surprised me last year with the Galaxy Z Fold 7. While I’m curious to see what it does with the current generation Fold 8. The foldable remains the best looking foldable in America right now. The updated thin and light design is more comfortable to hold and use than larger flagship phones iPhone 17 Pro Max and Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Too: Do you have a Samsung phone? I changed 10 settings to improve its performance

Weighing in at 215 grams, it’s one of the most comfortable large phones on the market right now. Google and Motorola foldables don’t stand a chance if you want a folding screen form factor, but they’re accustomed to slab phone designs. At just 8.9mm thin when folded and 4.2mm thin when unfolded, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 is a folding phone that comes closest to a slab phone.

    2. You like the One UI experience

I like what Samsung has been doing with One UI lately. It’s one of the best Android skin experiences on any smartphone, and its multitasking capabilities are only enhanced by the Fold 7’s larger screen. You can split the screen with gestures, swipe up from the side bar to add pop-up apps, add transparent widgets, and expand its capabilities with Good Lock App.

I like it better than the barebones Pixel UI and a little more than Motorola’s clean UI.

Samsung also offers a set of Galaxy AI features, some of which are really useful. I like AI Select, which is just a swipe away and has a really nice object erasure tool. You can also run Gemini Features to try out VO3, NotebookLM, etc. with Samsung foldables and enjoy six months of Gemini AI Pro for free.

You should buy the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold if…

    1. You need dustproof durability

While Samsung and Motorola are rated IP48 and IP49 for dust and water resistance, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold is the only foldable phone with a dust-resistant design. It’s IP68-rated, meaning it’s truly dust-resistant.

In comparison, IP48 means protection against solid particles larger than 1 millimeter, but dust particles are smaller than 1 millimeter, so dust and pocket lint can enter the hinge gap of the Fold 7 and Razer Fold. This is an important factor to consider if you live or work in a dusty area. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold will serve you better in that regard.

    2. You want PixelSnap and Pixel-exclusive AI features

If you’re an Apple user and looking for a foldable phone, you probably already have one. MagSafe Accessories. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is the only one of these three foldables that will support your magnetic accessories, thanks to PixelSnap, which is essentially MagSafe for Android.

It lets you mount MagSafe-compatible accessories on your Pixel phone. This comes in handy when you need to quickly connect a charging pad, power bank or even a tripod.

Too: Best Google phones in 2026: How is the Pixel 10 Pro Fold?

It is paired with an OS that offers the latest and greatest Gemini AI features as soon as they are released. Google is also offering a free one-year Gemini AI Pro subscription with its Pixel 10 Pro series. So, you can claim access to features like Gemini 2.5 Pro, VO3 for AI-generated videos, 2TB cloud storage, and previews of upcoming AI tools.

Then there’s the Pixel-exclusive Magic Cue, which automatically populates responses, helpful context, and more based on your on-screen content. I like it, but I wish it were more consistent.

You should buy Motorola Razr Fold if…

    1. Your screen time regularly exceeds 8 hours

I didn’t face battery life issues with the Samsung and Google foldables on moderate usage, but they couldn’t stand up to my heavy phone usage days. For those of us who have more than nine hours of screen time, the Motorola Razr Fold may be a better choice.

Also: I’ve tested every Razr and Galaxy Flip: 3 reasons Motorola beats Samsung in foldables

It has a 6,000mAh cell, which is much larger than the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s 4,400mAh capacity and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s 5,015mAh capacity. Motorola has also provided 80W fast wired and 50W fast wireless charging in it, which can charge the phone faster than its rivals. If you prioritize battery life, the new Razer Fold will better suit your needs.

    2. You need a stylus for a larger canvas

Samsung removed S Pen support from the Fold 7, which angered some Galaxy fans. If you’re one of those who likes to write notes on their folding phone (or draw on a larger canvas), the Razer Fold is the best option.

It features the Moto Pen Ultra (sold separately), which works on both the phone’s 6.6-inch external display and 8.1-inch inner screen. The pen’s fine tip offers high pressure sensitivity, low latency and tilt detection for adding shading and texture. You can use it to sketch, annotate, clip, move text or images, capture screenshots, and more.

While I like Google’s dust-tight design and Motorola’s reliable new foldable, I prefer the Galaxy Z Fold 7 for its slim and lightweight form factor. There’s something exhilarating about having a foldable phone in a slab phone form factor inside my pocket that other two foldable phones just can’t replicate…

It’s not a perfect phone, and I wish it had a bigger battery, but from the experience there aren’t many flaws with it. I loved using the Fold 7.
