Buckingham Palace said King Charles spent “a wonderful morning” with British actor Idris Elba while celebrating 50 years of the National Youth Music Theatre.
Before watching the National Youth Music Theater (NYMT) students perform, “the King, accompanied by Sir Idris, came to join the students in taking part in improvisation workshops.”
It states, “The charity provides high quality musical theater opportunities to young people from all backgrounds.”
“With the support of The King’s Trust, Sir Idris attended the National Youth Musical Theater at the age of 18,” the palace said.
Last year, Elba, best known for his roles in the television series “Luther” and “The Wire”, was awarded a knighthood for his anti-knife crime campaign with young people.
