Prince William and Princess Kate, the Prince and Princess of Wales, are said to be raising their three children under a very strict rule.
Offering a glimpse behind closed doors, sources have revealed that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis follow a strict routine and clear rules in their household.
According to Radar Online, there is reportedly an emphasis on discipline, etiquette and emotional resilience, with a source saying, “William and Kate are very loving and deeply involved in every aspect of their children’s lives, but behind the warm-hearted public image, there is actually a highly organized and disciplined system in the household.”
The source added, “George, Charlotte and Louis are being raised with clear boundaries, routines and expectations from a very young age because William and Kate believe structure is essential given the extraordinary roles the children will be born into.”
He added, “There is an emphasis on respect, courtesy and an understanding of responsibility. The children are constantly reminded that while they may lead privileged lives, as members of the Royal Family they are expected to meet certain standards of behaviour. William and Kate are determined that they will grow up with a sense of duty rather than entitlement.”
While people may assume the royal children are “over-pampered,” insiders revealed that’s not the environment Prince William and Princess Kate have created.
“They are very conscious of avoiding the kind of sheltered upbringing that can distance children from reality,” the source said. “They want kids to appreciate normal experiences, spending time outside, following rules and understanding that they can’t do whatever they want just because of their titles.”
Kate is said to be passionate about keeping her children grounded “emotionally and socially”, making sure to give them a balanced childhood even when they are surrounded by money, staff and global attention. “This means encouraging independence, flexibility and a strong work ethic rather than allowing them to become overly indulgent or isolated from the real world.”
“This means restrictions on everything from TV to screen time,” the source said.
Additionally, the Prince and Princess of Wales are said to be aware of the expectations that their eldest son, Prince George, will face as the future king. So, they know that despite their efforts to give their children a grounded upbringing, their lives “will always come with extraordinary scrutiny, expectation, and pressure that most people could never imagine dealing with.”
The source added, “Because of that, a big part of their parenting approach focuses on building emotional resilience and stability from an early age. They want kids to feel secure within themselves, confident in who they are, and able to cope without being overwhelmed by the intense attention of the public.”
