After Britney Spears’ rep dismissed claims the singer had irregular “outbursts” at a Los Angeles restaurant, a dinner guest has shared some details about the “crazy” incident.
Entertainment reporter Jeff Snyder told page six Spears arrived at the Blue Dog Tavern restaurant with two other people on Wednesday night and claimed she didn’t recognize the singer at first because she was wearing sunglasses.
“The woman sat down and started making a lot of howling or barking sounds and started screaming a lot,” he alleged.
Snyder said he later realized it was Brittany when she removed her sunglasses. He also claimed that during the dinner the singer repeatedly stood, sat and moved around the restaurant.
He added that “it was definitely a nuisance to sit next to her at dinner time.”
According to Snyder, Spears was holding a knife at one point while standing, although she clarified that her intention was not threatening or “anything like that”.
However, another guest reportedly felt uncomfortable and reportedly said, “She had a knife and she came towards me. I thought she was going to stab me.”
He further commented that his teammates tried to calm him down the entire evening.
Snyder also claimed that he briefly lit a cigarette inside the restaurant before staff asked him to extinguish it.
After news of Britney’s behavior went viral, her publicist strongly denied claims that the singer was in any danger.
“This has been completely blown out of proportion.” Britney was enjoying a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard,” her rep said.
“She never put anyone in danger with a knife,” the statement added. “She was cutting her hamburger in half.”
