Some social media users on Friday appeared to justify the shooting of Joshua Fox, a black Army veteran, by sharing details of his alleged criminal record.
The 31-year-old man was shot outside the Montgomery County Courthouse by notorious online streamer Dalton Eatherly, aka Chud the Builder.
Since Fox was hospitalized following the May 13 incident, his wife has raised more than $60,000 through a GoFundMe campaign to cover medical expenses, describing him as a disabled veteran struggling with PTSD.
Supporters of Chud the Builder have circulated court records of Fox’s 2024 arrest in Clarksville for aggravated domestic assault.
Local police have not publicly confirmed details of Fox’s criminal history in connection with the ongoing investigation.
Observers have noted that no prior record justifies the shooting.
Meanwhile, a judge has set an initial bond of $1.25 million for Chud the Builder, who has been charged with attempted criminal murder and more in the shooting.
