As a child of the 90s and a teen of the 2000s, the past few seasons have given me endless nostalgic joy. I’ve seen clothing trends and items I once thought were relegated to the archives, back on the runways, in our Instagram feeds and eventually back into our wardrobes. For summer 2026, the revival is underway.
We’ve mentally processed and accepted the return of low-rise jeans, handkerchief tops, skirts over jeans and capri pants (or paddle pushers as they were once known), and it fills me with pride to see them re-imagining a modern wardrobe. But if you think we’re done with the trends of the ’90s and early ’00s, you’d be wrong. The new season has ushered in a refreshing range of vintage colours, prints, denim and accessories to liven up our summer wardrobes.
So whether you’re a lover of all things vintage or feel like you got it wrong the first time and want a chance to rewrite history, read on to discover my edit of five trends that are making a comeback.
5 trends coming back in summer 2026
1. Boho
Style Notes: some principles of Boho dressing never really went out, but this season it has a ’90s edge that’s noticeable, and by that I mean it’s edgier and more textured. The return of bloomers has contributed to this in a big way, referencing a Courtney Love vibe that is ultra-feminine but contrasts well with heavier fabrics like suede and leather.

2. Dungarees
Style Notes: Dungarees are dismissed as childish, but workwear trends and brands like Dickies and Carhartt have brought them back in a way that feels Utilitarian. The key to styling them is to treat them like a second pair of jeans. Keep base layers simple, and use accessories to create the mood that works best for you.

3. Camo Print
Style Notes: Possibly the most divisive of all the trends on this list, but one that can be embraced wholeheartedly or in small doses. The buzz about this comeback started with camouflage printed jeans from brands like Citizens of Humanity Damson Madder, but ahead of summer it has expanded to T-shirts, tops and skirts. Lean into the grunge vibe and pair with gorpcore elements like barefoot boots, balloon trousers and technical jackets.

5. Lilac
Style Notes: When I think of lilac, I think of Rachel Green’s character in Friends. Her outfits are a cornerstone of ’90s style, and yet it’s never been noticed how much lilac she wears. From fuzzy sleeveless roll-necks to one-button cardigans and midi dresses, they proved just how versatile the shade can be. For 2026, this is the key pastel, and matches well with navy, tan, camel and of course other pastels. Look for unique silhouettes and textures to really bring the color to life.
