Late Saturday night, Gucci staged its Cruise 2027 show in New York. While many prestigious sites and venues could have set the stage for the occasion, Gucci chose Times Square as his venue where the house occupied the entire stretch of Broadway between 46th and 48th. The setting serves as foreshadowing for new creative director Demna’s debut cruise collection: a mix of glamor and grittiness in true New Yorker fashion.
The show cemented Gucci’s role in the zeitgeist, with a line-up of stars on and off the runway, including names like Cindy Crawford, Paris Hilton and Tom Brady who visited the show, and Lindsay Lohan, Laura Harrier, Mariah Carey and many others in attendance. Following the designer’s F/W ’26 runway debut, we were filled with curiosity to see how Demna would translate his new aesthetic vision for the house into the Cruise collection, and it’s clear the vision is one of high glamour, sex appeal, and ’90s references. Ahead, everything you need to know about Gucci’s Cruise 2027 show in New York.
Times Square takeover
Combining high-brow and low-brow taste in a way only designer Demna could, Gucci landed on none other than Times Square in the heart of Midtown Manhattan for its Cruise 2027 show. Each screen – normally displaying advertisements of all types – was transformed into a livestream of the event, with models walking down the street directly below. In place of the usual throngs of tourists flocking to Broadway, there was a stylish crowd of showgoers dressed in their best Gucci attire.

star studded arrival
As if the catwalk wasn’t star-studded enough, the front row and arrivals were equally impressive. Mariah Carey, Kim Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan were just some of the A-list names in attendance, wearing their best Gucci ensembles. Laura Harrier was a vision in a white turtleneck mini dress and black pumps that were reminiscent of Carrie Bradshaw’s famous traffic-stopping LBD.

And now, clothes
Now, let’s discuss what actually happened But Catwalk. There were plenty of glam gowns, including the architectural feathered look worn by Crawford, a sheer cape dress by Alex Consani and a one-shoulder feathered dress by Maria Carla Bosconi. Conversely, many of the looks are strikingly similar to what you might see the everyday New Yorker wearing just a day or two over on 5th: dark denim, sleek trench coats, and slim suits.
