Kate Middleton, daughter-in-law of the late Princess Diana, has seen a wave of comparisons recently as her solo trip to Italy turned ‘D-mania’ into something new.
Body language expert Jenny Bond was the expert who recently revealed all this.
Ms Bond compared Kate’s trip to Reggio Emilia, her first since being diagnosed with cancer, to that of her late mother-in-law, the people’s princess.
According to the expert this visit has completely changed things as “the extraordinary glamor and young star quality which the Princess brings to any event has somewhat disappeared during her absence.”
“Of course, the PR team will not put any pressure on Katherine,” he said in a conversation with The Mirror. “But they will be hoping that the success of this trip to Italy will be a harbinger of more overseas trips flying the flag for Britain and the British monarchy.”
The expert didn’t stop there, but to illustrate the range of her views, she admitted, “I think it’s only when you see the stars of our royal family on tour that you realize the extraordinary drawing power of the British monarchy. There are 10 European monarchies in total, and yet it is our king and our heir to the throne who consistently attracts the biggest crowds wherever he goes.”
Ms. Bond also shared some of her own thoughts and experiences in this regard, admitting, “Seeing the crowds cheering for Catherine in Italy reminded me of all the years I spent traveling with her late mother-in-law Diana, Princess of Wales.”
During that time some people “queued for hours” to get a “glimpse” of Katherine, she recalls. “When they saw her they screamed with excitement, and the teachers at the school she went to started crying when she left. Wherever Diana went, I saw almost mass hysteria.” The expert also said, “I saw it in the States, France, Japan, India, Nepal and Australia. Then they called it D-mania. It has already been dubbed Kate fever.”
“It’s hard to imagine other European royals like Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden – who is just a few years older than Catherine and very popular in her home country – being given the rockstar treatment on a visit to the UK. But it seems everyone wants to meet our Catherine and indeed William, Charles and Camilla,” he concluded by saying.
