Speaking to TMZ, his representative Zack McGinnis said, “Although his voice may now be silent, the characters, stories and love he gave to the world will live on forever,” McGinnis said.
“But beyond the incredible career was an extraordinary man. Tom was a devoted husband and father who, together with his wife, raised a loving family of nine children, three of whom were biological and six were born through adoption and foster care.”
In 2020, his daughter Sam released a heartbreaking statement that he had suffered a stroke that left him unable to speak.
What happened to Tom Kane?
He said, “Our family wanted to explain why my father is MIA (Missing in Action). About two months ago he suffered a stroke on the left side, which left him with weakness on the right side and damaged the speech center of his brain. This means he can neither communicate efficiently verbally, nor read or spell. He is still capable and can do many things on his own, but can only speak a few words now.”
Responding to his statement, Mark Hamill, who stars as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, wrote at the time, “Tom Kane is an extremely talented actor and a genuinely good man. I look forward to his full recovery. I know the voice-over community and his countless fans feel exactly the same. Sending love to him and the entire Kane family.”
As soon as news of the late actor’s death surfaced online, tributes started pouring in.
